Synchysite-Parisite Ca(Ce,La,Nd, Y)(CO3)2F - Ca(Ce,La,Nd, Y)(CO3)2F2 Hexagonal
Description: These are uncommon rare-earth-bearing minerals found in granitic, syenitic and carbonatitic rocks, particularly pegmatites.
MARATHON COUNTY: Synchysite- parisite is found as tiny brown corroded crystals up to 3 mm. long in cavitites in the pegmatites of the Wausau pluton, such as exposed at the Wimmer Pit #3. (Falster, 1987; T. Buchholz, pers comm., 1993).
