Behierite - (Ta,Nb)BO4 - Tetragonal

Florence County: Behierite occurs as "transparent colorless to white crystals" up to 400 microns across with quartz, elbaite, albite, manganotantalite and manganoapatite in the wall zone of a complex pegmatite near the Pine River. This is at present only the second reported occurrence in the world for this rare mineral. (Falster and Simmons, 2001).
